The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is leading African-based, African-led international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya with a Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal. APHRC conducts policy-relevant research on population, health, education, urbanization and related development issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
APHRC seeks to recruit a highly motivated and talented Post-Doctoral Research Scientist to work within the West Africa Regional Office (WARO) in Dakar. The candidate will join a growing team that develops local, national and international spatiotemporal models for environmental determinants of health, such as air pollution, climate related covariates and built environment that can be used for studies of their health effects. The ideal candidate should have strong quantitative, environmental science and epidemiology background, and is seeking experience in the application of advanced methods, such as machine learning/Artificial Intelligence and novel statistical methods in exposure science research.
This is a new role arising from the implementation of the current five-year strategic plan which has, subsequently triggered tremendous growth in our programs.
