The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), LVCT Health, BRAC University, Bangladesh; and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) are implementing a multi-country community-based participatory research (CBPR) project, the NIHR-SHINE, titled, "Strengthening Community Health Systems by Addressing Community Health Volunteers’ Mental Health and wellbeing, and agency: A mixed Methods Study in Urban Informal Settlements and Rural Kenya." The study aims to co-develop, pilot, and adopt a holistic health systems support package that integrates psychosocial support to ensure Community Health Promoters' well-being and agency in challenging contexts such as urban informal settlements and rural settings and ultimately improve health systems resilience in Kenya.
