     QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE FIELD INTERVIEWERS FOR A STUDY ON UNDERSTANDING THE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF PREGNANT AND PARENTING ADOLESCENTS


    The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an African-led and Africa based international research institute committed to conducting high quality and policy relevant multidisciplinary research. Our research addresses important development issues and challenges facing sub-Saharan Africa in areas such as education, population, health, aging, urbanization and wellbeing. Our goal is to generate evidence for meaningful action, engage with policy makers in the region to disseminate our research findings, influence policy decisions, and improve the quality of life in Africa.

    The APHRC invites applications for Qualitative and Quantitative Field Interviewers to conduct interviews and focus group discussions with adolescents and their parents as well as other stakeholders in Korogocho.


    Qualitative Field Interviewers


    Duties and responsibilities

    • Obtain and document informed consent/assent from the study participants prior to the interviews.
    • Conduct and record in-depth interviews with adolescents, parents, and pertinent stakeholders.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator.


    Minimum qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, or related disciplines.
    • Ability to conduct qualitative interviews in both Kiswahili and English.
    • Must have experience in conducting in-depth interviews with adolescents and/or other groups.


    Quantitative Field Interviewers


    Duties and responsibilities

    • Obtain and document informed consent/assent from the study participants prior to the interviews.
    • Conduct surveys (interviewer-administered questionnairs) with adolescents, parents, and pertinent stakeholders
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator


    Minimum qualifications required

    • Must have at least a KCSE (C) and above.
    • Ability to conduct quantitative interviews in both Kiswahili and English.
    • Must have experience in interviewer-administered surveys with adolescents and/or other groups.
    • A working knowledge of how to use SurveyCTO-collect, ODK or REDCap on an android device
